Data & methodology

Public records,
made practical.

How CleanFork handles London food hygiene information, what the ratings mean and where to check the official source.

Source

Officially published hygiene data.

CleanFork builds its directory from publicly available Food Standards Agency food hygiene rating records. Local authorities publish the inspection information that feeds the scheme.

Check ratings on the Food Standards Agency website.

Refreshes

Updated on a regular import cycle.

We refresh our London dataset regularly and show the most recently published information in our latest successful import. A listing can change between imports, so the Food Standards Agency remains the definitive source.

What a rating means

A record of the latest inspection.

The overall rating is a score out of 5. The hygiene, structure and management component scores use lower-is-better scales. An inspection rating reflects conditions found on the inspection date, not a guarantee of food quality or a prediction of a future visit.
